Falling behind

It has been a little bit. I know I said I was going to update daily, or more likely weekly, but I am even failing in that. Everything has been kind of put on hold for the beginning of the school year and the mad dash to the finish line (the finish line being my wedding) in just 63 days. I cannot believe it is so soon. Physical therapy for my vertigo in the morning and my first Calculus quiz of the year at noon, so I should probably try to get a few hours of sleep.
Tomorrow will be an update on Derbalife and maybe a product review or two in the next few days.

Getting Started Shopping List

Good Evening,

It is quickly approaching 2am, but I am to excited and pumped up to sleep (not to mention nervous about going to the doctors, I hate doctors offices). I joined Derbalife today and I am ready to go!
My first helpful post is going to be about some of the items that help to make using the Derbalife products easy-peasy!

The first item that I think is an essential is a personal size blender. If you already have a blender, use that, but if you don't, this little number from JC Penny's is bomb! Coming in at only 30 bucks, it is affordable for most, plus has the bonus of not taking up much counter space. I like it because it works great, and I hate doing dishes, so the fact that I can use the blender as my cup makes me happy! Plus now it comes in all the rad colors pictured, and I love rainbows!
Secondly, the cup from the blender is great and all, but what if you are not going to be drinking your smoothie right away? I had to think a lot about it because I am getting ready to start a long hard semester of 7am to 5pm on campus, and I like my Formula 1 shakes blended with delicious fruit and frosty cold. So what is a girl to do? That was easy! A local company is Klean Kanteen, and they have an amazing line of water bottles and drink containers. They recently came out with Insulated bottles (in colors!) and the 20oz size is the perfect size to go with the above blender! The 20oz size comes in the pretty purple above, a gorgeous peacock blue (the one I have), good ol' black and classic stainless steel. I am sure that their are other insulated containers that work, but this one works well (plus I want to pimp a local company). I can make my smoothie the night before, put it in the Klean Kanteen, put it in the fridge and in the morning, after a quick shake, my smoothie is just like when I made it the night before. No frozen block like if you were to leave it in the freezer, or watery mess like if you had left it in the fridge. There are some limitations to this containers ability to keep cold. If you leave it in a hot car in direct sunlight on a 100 degree day, your drink will be boiling within the hour.

Third essential item, A pill container. When using your Derbalife products, you are going to be using at least 2 supplements, 3 times a day. Opening the bottles gets old (or I am just really lazy) and a pill container will make your life easier. It also is helpful when you need to take your supplements with you on the go. Now, you can go to the store and pick one up, but I am a big fan of the Official Herbalife ones. They are a little prettier than the ones from CVS or the pharmacy, and they don't make you feel like such an old lady. Plus they have containers to carry your Formula 1 powder in pre-measured so you don't have to use a plastic baggie!

Well that is all for tonight, and in case you had not gathered, Derbalife is a branch of Herbalife that is roller derby specific, but we use the Herbalife products!

Getting Ready

Within the next week, a new chapter of my life is opening. I am going to start coaching for Derbalife, I am going back to school with a purpose, I am actually going to the doctor to get my medical maladies taken care of, I am going back to derby after almost a month on Hiatus due to my health and my wedding invitations are going out in the mail tomorrow.
In just a few minutes I will be doing a training for my derbalife coaching, and Thursday I actually get started! I am so excited to get started, and think that I can do some good!...and make some money, which as a full time student would be a good thing.
So signing off for now, but maybe another little post later.

Fox Mauled 'er

Introducing Me!

Hello! My name is Fox Mauled 'er and I am a Derby Girl from California. This is the start of a blog. My goal is to update it weekly (preferably daily) as time allows.
This blog will be a bit of a Hodge podge of subjects, but the main things you will see here will be updates about Derbalife, stories of my roller derby journey, product reviews, book reviews, health and wellness advice and whatever else happens to pop out. I will also post any sweet deals that I find online, and hope to one day have contests and giveaways!...but that is a little ways off.
So for now, welcome to my little world, and lets get this show on the road!
